About Us Chris Chapple owns and operates Dr. Blade Skate Care. A previous owner of a skating shop at the Kennebec Ice Arena when residing in Augusta, Maine, Chris opened Dr. Blade's in 1999. His philosophy at Dr. Blade's is to assure that every customer gets the right skate with the proper fit and a quality sharpening.
Chris is still an avid hockey player and coach. He provides clinics and private lessons to hone hockey skills, teach power skating, and bolster strength and conditioning. His resume includes coaching for the Kennebec, Capital, and Troy Youth Hockey organizations and conducting clinics and lessons with former Brown University and AHL player Dave Stevenson. He has also taught basic figure skating skills with teaching pro Julie Sutphin. With his background playing and coaching hockey, teaching skating skills, and owning and managing skate shops, Chris has the knowledge and skills to provide you with the proper equipment.
